OIR Ayr founded in 1985 is an organization for retired people over 50. Membership is around 1500, drawn from Ayr and surrounding district.
It is a Registered Charity, No. SC05639
OIR keeps its membership active by organizing some 76 activities to exercise body and soul. Most activity groups depend on the initiative, skills and voluntary contributions of individual members.
As well as being a great way of getting involved in social activities there is a real sense of community amongst our members, with everyone looking out for and helping each other.
The Annual Subscription for members is £16 and runs from 1st January. It is payable at the OIR Office, 61 Main Street, Ayr.
In addition an extra charge might be payable to a group to meet sundry
expenses.

Meetings
A general meeting to which all members are invited is held
fortnightly on Tuesdays in the Town Hall, Ayr at 1.30pm.
There is usually a guest speaker and sometimes other entertainment, followed by the chance to meet and chat with other members.
In addition
announcements are made about outings, holidays, theatres, concerts and other group

Newsletter
The OIR Ayr Newsletter is published
approximately quarterly. It is delivered to Members'
homes by a group of volunteers. The
Newsletter Editor is Pat Weston. Submissions for the Newsletter may be
either left in the Newsletter Editor's folder in the office or or preferably
sent to Pat by E-mail.
Website
Some overlap exists between the Newsletter and the website but in general
the website aims to hold fuller information on Groups, particularly
photographs. It can also take slideshows and photo albums.
