Group meets monthly on a Monday
Leader Dick Vernon 01292 442195
The group meets monthly from September to May, usually on the first Monday of the month. We visit various locations mostly in Ayrshire, but some are further a field (e.g. to Loch Ryan and Caerlaverock); there is a mixture of half day and whole day outings (mostly the latter). The objective is to have an enjoyable time seeing birds, but also with help identifying birds both by sight and by sound, so both beginners and more experienced bird watchers are welcome. A pair of binoculars is essential. Some outings involve walking a few kilometres so suitable outdoor clothing and footwear is advisable. For more information contact Dick Vernon at 01292 442195.

Group meets at Carnegie Library fortnightly 10:15 on Thursday
Leader Peg Cheshire 01292 570115
Who are we? A group of about a dozen people who love reading but also like discussing what we read.
What do we read? Anything from Midnight's children to Harry Potter and we also have a couple of sessions on poetry each year.
How do we decide what to read? Each year every member proposes one, or perhaps two, books and a programme is drawn up.
Where do we meet? The Carnegie Library fortnightly on a Thursday morning at 10:15.
How do we operate? The person proposing the book starts by, if possible, saying something about the author and then commenting on perhaps the plot, style, characteristics of her (or his) choice. Each member in turn then has the opportunity to comment, following on general discussion.

Meets at Prestwick Community Centre between 09.30-12.00.
Leader Audrey Patterson 01292 470643
We are a small bridge club with four tables maximum and partners are not necessary. The hands are dealt, it is not duplicate bridge Bidding boxes are available if wanted. We have a tea or coffee break, the club is friendly, but it is a club, not a bridge class - no lessons are given.
The Bridge Group celebrated Christmas & presented Audrey Patterson with a bouquet of flowers for all her hard work as Group Leader & giving the Group so much pleasure throughout the year. Some photos supplied by Sheena Burrell are presented below.
What a lovely bouquet of flowers
